ONE FOLDER AT A TIME

Loose files in.
Category folders out.

Choose a folder. Check the plan.
Click Organize Files. That’s it.

01

See the plan before you commit.

Every file has a visible destination. Screenshots, documents, images, and more get their own folders.

02

Keep your files. Skip the clutter.

Files move inside your selected folder. Nothing gets deleted or overwritten. Existing subfolders stay as they are.

03

Have a way back.

Undo restores recorded moves when the files can still be validated. Conflicts are reported for you to resolve.

Your files stay on your Mac. No account. No uploads. No AI service.

Beta notes & download verification

The app is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. The DMG is signed and contains the app’s stapled notarization ticket. Notarization is an Apple security check, not a guarantee of bug-free software.

This is an early beta. It runs locally and uses filename and extension rules, not AI. It doesn’t organize subfolders, delete files, or monitor folders in the background. Intel and Apple Silicon binaries are included; Intel execution and macOS 14 execution have not been separately verified.

If macOS shows an unexpected security warning, stop and report it. Don’t disable Gatekeeper or remove quarantine to force installation.

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD

A few things to know.

Is it really free?

Yes. All current features are free during beta, including organizing and Undo. A paid, one-time purchase is being considered for a future release. Pricing and future terms aren’t finalized.

Does it upload my files?

No. The Mac app scans and moves files locally. It has no account system, analytics SDK, or file-upload service. This website is hosted separately; feedback is only shared when you choose to send it.

What happens if two files have the same name?

Clean Start plans an alternative filename, such as invoice (1).pdf. If a new conflict appears during the operation, the move fails safely instead of overwriting the existing file.

Can I undo after quitting the app?

The app stores its move history locally and checks interrupted operations on restart. Undo can restore recorded moves when the files and folder can still be validated. Original-path conflicts and files changed or moved elsewhere can prevent restoration.

Does it clean my entire Mac?

It organizes regular files directly inside the one folder you select. It skips existing subfolders, packages, hidden files, symbolic links, and files whose metadata can’t be read. It doesn’t delete files or free up disk space.

Who’s making this?

I’m an independent developer in South Korea, building a small native Mac utility for people who want a calmer workspace. This beta is about finding out whether a simple, preview-first approach is useful in real life.

A simple privacy note.

The Clean Start Mac app works locally. It does not upload your files, require an account, or use an analytics SDK.

When enabled by this website’s host, we count download-button clicks and installer requests as daily totals. These counts include repeats and may include bots; they do not measure installations or active users. We store no cookies, browser identifiers, IP addresses, or referrers in these counters. The hosting provider may process normal request information and access logs. The Mac app sends no usage statistics.

Feedback answers are assembled in your browser. They are not automatically collected. If you send an email or use an external form, that provider processes the information you choose to share. Don’t include private files or sensitive information.
